La’Teashia Sykes joined the World Neighbors Board of Trustees in July 2024. La’Teashia’s career has yielded deep experiences in strategic partnership development, program management, senior management, strategic planning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion at a national level. With 10 years in federal service, La’Teashia has served as the Director of the Oregon Federal Executive Board, Project Officer with the U.S. Department of Energy’s State Energy Program, and the Director of the Office of University Programs at the U.S. Peace Corps, where she was also appointed by the Agency Director to serve as the agency’s Liaison to the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Prior to federal service, La’Teashia held policy, outreach, and management positions during her tenure at the National Low Income Housing Coalition. La’Teashia holds a B.S. in psychology from Oregon State University and a Master of Social Work degree from Howard University.
