Work Of Women

WOW! (Work of Women) is a World Neighbors initiative to raise awareness about the issues women in poor, rural communities face and do something about it. A membership organization of World Neighbors, WOW! supports activities like women's savings and credit groups, leadership development, water projects and community and reproductive health. It also sponsors the crucial work of social change - supporting communities to work together, identify solutions to their most pressing needs and involve members equitably in contributing to and benefiting from the development process. It challenges men and women to be creators and participants in a culture of hope and empowerment and to share equally in the fruits of their investment.

Members of the Work of Women - WOW! - program are committed to improving women's lives in poor, rural villages throughout the world. By joining together in this work, our individual efforts are multiplied and truly create change. In keeping with World Neighbors approach, members partner with women in World Neighbors program sites to support collective work that builds skills, community trust and better living conditions. Women are encouraged and supported to join together for development work that moves them beyond subsistence, improves their and their families' health and inspires increased participation and leadership in their villages and beyond. Involvement with this work changes our lives as well.
