A frugal approach to managing our financial resources characterizes World Neighbors financial strategy. Our annual operating budget is approximately $3.1 million, which is invested in people, not things such as expensive construction and material aid.

Who's Who at World Neighbors

World Neighbors was incorporated on Sept. 12, 1952, as a private, charitable, not-for-profit corporation. A volunteer board of trustees, whose members come from throughout the United States, contribute their time and expertise to govern World Neighbors. Trustees are elected for a term of three years.

The World Neighbors staff includes three U.S.-based staff members and 47 team members in the field who are from the areas where they work. More than 50 local partner organizations that help to train volunteers and leaders; thousands of volunteers in Asia, Africa and Latin America and Caribbean.

Donations made to us online are secure. When you make a donation online, we ask for your name, address, daytime phone, e-mail address and credit card information. We use your mailing address to send your tax-deductible receipt(s) and to periodically keep you informed about our work in different parts of the world through our publications.

World Neighbors will not share your personal information with any third party, including other nonprofits. It is our policy not to sell, trade, or rent your personal information to anyone.

We use a third-party financial institution to process our credit card transactions. They receive the credit card number and other personal information of our donors only to verify credit card numbers and to process credit card transactions in a secure environment.

Our online order processing system allows you to make safe donations and purchases. We use the latest encryption technology, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), to insure that no one can read your information as it travels to our ordering system.

Our online credit card verification system is handled by a third party, which collects your name, address, phone, credit card number and expiration date in order to process your transaction. Their encryption technology offers the highest level of security available on the Internet today. They have state-of-the-art firewalls and other security technology in place to insure the confidentiality of your transactions.
